Remember Me?

It's been a while since my last post. I'm so preoccupied with moving and the last little details of the house.......I can't stand it! :) I keep telling myself 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks. This week they are finishing lots of painting, the last of the tile work (kitchen back splash and fireplace surround), the last of the electrical work, landscaping and then clean up!!! Here are few more photos:

As I pack up the apartment, I can't wait to unpack, especially into organized closets/pantry. In all 3 previous houses, I've NEVER had a real pantry. So, here's what I hope mine looks like.

I actually have a true linen closet, as well. Maybe mine can look like these???

We're In The Home Stretch!!!

We are counting down the days until the house is finished! This is the exciting time because every day something else is completed. Recently, the kitchen island/dining room lighting was installed. Here's a sneak peek:

(The chandelier is tied up so no one bumps their head.)

I bought both chandeliers from Shades of Light and I'm happy with the results.

I've been dreading making decisions about the landscaping, but the time has come. I really have no interest in gardening, but I want my patio/landscaping to look nice. So, this is one area that I'll leave up to the landscapers.

But, I do have some inspiration photos:  :)

Here are some lighting ideas that I'd like to use on the patio for a little whimsy.

My Dream Foyer

Layla Grace was having a "Pin It to Win It" contest. You were to pin things from Layla Grace to create your dream foyer. If you win, you get a product from your dream board. Here's my look:

So, my dream foyer is a larger open space with herringbone wood floors that leads to a more open great room and kitchen. The chest would be flanked by the 2 orange chairs. The combo of orange and gray is my favorite right now. The lamp would be off to one side of chest and mirror hung off centered with the architectural element in front of mirror and coral over on lamp side. At the corner of the door, the urn would sit to gather umbrellas, etc. The wallpaper would add some more depth and a set of windows would be flanked with very simple drapery panels in a white linen. To add some privacy to the front entry the screen would line another wall/opening to great room with the bench in front and sconces hung on screen. Finally, the rug and wonderful chandelier accent the foyer perfectly!
